Abstract
847,760. Casting reinforced concrete pipes. CEN-VI-RO PIPE CORPORATION. Nov. 17, 1958, No. 36874/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXVIII] An anchoring device, to maintain tension in a concrete reinforcement prestressing wire 11, during the casting of a concrete pipe, comprises a block 17 in which is a pocket 27 with an end wall 22 slotted at 25 to receive the wire, and which is secured to the mould by bolts screwed into lugs 31, 32, and a sleeve 40 received in the pocket when attached to the wire whereby the wire is anchored. The sleeve has a porcelain lining which fractures when the sleeve is gripped to form a tight connection. An extension 29 inclines from the body so that it, and an enlargement 30 thereon, are wholly embedded in the concrete. The inside of the end wall 22 is sloped so that the sleeve 40 is forced to the bottom of the pocket. A depression 37<SP>1</SP> for the wire may be cored into the concrete.
