Abstract
903,628. Reinforcement end anchorage means. KEE, G. O., and McCALLS MACALLOY Ltd. Dec. 8, 1959 [Jan. 2, 1959], No. 157/59. Class 20 (4). End anchorage means for reinforcement bars &c., wherein a short metal tube 5 having circumferentiallyextending ribs 6 or the like is inserted in the constructional member to enclose the end of the reinforcement bar 1, the tube terminating at or near the surface of the constructional member through which the reinforcement bar projects and being encircled by one or more helices 8, 9 of reinforcement material embedded in the constructional member, whereby tensile stresses applied to the reinforcement bar is borne axially by the tube and is transmitted to the material of the constructional member through the tube. The stress in the reinforced bar is transmitted to the tube either by a nut carried by a screw-thread on the bar, Fig. 1 (not shown), or by a wedge collar 15 having clamping wedges 14.
