Abstract

846,612. Valves. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO. Ltd. Jan. 21, 1959 [Feb. 7, 1958], No. 4096/58. Class 135. [Also in Group XXXII] A valve more particularly for interposition in the line connecting an air spring with a levelling valve in an air suspension system for vehicles is arranged to provide a delay in the supply of air to and exhaustion of air from the spring in response to a change of pressure from the levelling valve. Ports 4, 5 on either side of a piston 2 that is centred by springs 3 are connected respectively to the air spring and to the levelling valve. An extension 6 on the piston has passages 8, 9, 10, 11 that permit communication between the two sides of the piston through a passage 13 only when the piston is displaced to either of its end positions. An hydraulic &c. damper 14 with an adjustable needle valve 19 controls the rate of movement of the piston.
