Abstract
846,538. Textile drafting mechanism. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. Aug. 25, 1958 [Oct. 24, 1957], No. 27230/58. Class 120(2). A top roll carrier and weighting arm 1 pivoted in a fixed bracket 3 of a drafting mechanism is locked in position by detent rollers 13 of a pivoted latch in a bracket 3, which rollers automatically move to lock the arm when it reaches a working position and can be removed from the locking position by displacing an operating member 11 which co-operates with the latch. The hood-shaped operating member 11 and the arm 1 are pivoted on a bolt 4 in the bracket 3. The rollers 13 are rotatably supported on a pin 14 which is held in links 16 pivoted at 15 in the bracket 3. Legs of a spring 17 bear respectively on a recess 19 of the arm 1 when in raised position and on the pin 14. In working position latch hooks 12 of the arm 1 are engaged by the roller 13. To unlock the arm the hood 11 is moved in the direction of the arrow A and striking surfaces 20 thereof press against the pin 14 and force the rollers 13 out of engagement with the hooks 12. On lowering the arm from its raised position the spring 17 forces the rollers 13 into engagement with the hooks 12. The hood 11 is guided on the arm 1 by a pin 11<SP>1</SP> at the front and by the bolt 4 at the rear.
