Abstract

842,484. Rotary pumps. COLCRETE Ltd. Nov. 23, 1957, No. 36578/57. Class 110 (2). In a rotary pump of the meshing screw type including a rotary screw 18 and a resilient stator 22 the stator is adapted to be longitudinally compressed in order to reduce the working chambers 41 in cross-section by means of an outer casing having a muff coupling 53, Fig. 4, or a bolted flange connection 31, 32 incorporating removable shims 36, 40. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the three aligned bolts of Fig. 2 are replaced by two studs threaded into a common nut. The pump is connected to a feed hopper and discharges through a conduit incorporating a pressure gauge and relief valve assembly (see Figs. 1, 5 and 6 (not shown).
