Abstract

661,329. Meshing-screw pumps. GUINARD, P. A. June 2, 1949. [June 24, 1948] No. 14833/49. Class 110(ii). The pump with meshing screws 7, 8 and suction and discharge ports 17, 15 respectively, is provided with journals 11, 12, 13, 14 on the screw shafts which also act as dummy pistons. A passage 16 allows fluid under discharge pressure to pass to the outer ends of journals 11, 13 and a passage 18 allows suction pressure to act on the outer ends of journals 12, 14. The sizes of the ends are determined so that all shafts are balanced axially.
