Abstract

841,891. Mould materials. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. June 20, 1957 [Aug. 8, 1956], No. 19510/57. Class 83(1). Metal moulds are coated with a number of coatings applied in molten form by projection from a blow-pipe or gun, comprising a first coating of an alloy containing at least 15% chromium, and a subsequently-applied coating consisting of a cermet containing 50-90% of alumina and 10-50% of a metal component containing 70-100% chromium. The first coating may contain 10-30% of molybdenum, tungsten, nickel, cobalt, or iron, 0-20% alumina, and the balance chromium. There may be intermediate coatings, or a final refractory coating, or both.
