Abstract

In the manufacture of grinding wheels from granules of e.g corundum coated with a synthetic resin and layers of reinforcing material, e.g. tissue paper, the coated granules are sprinkled on the reinforcing material which is not impregnated with resin, and then the two are bonded together by e.g. infra-red heating. The coated reinforcing material is then pressed in a mould with or without resin impregnated reinforcing sheets of paper or glass fibre.
