Abstract

838,527. Centrifugal separators. SOC. D'EQUIPMENTS INDUSTRIELS ET LAITIERS. April 9, 1958 [April 24, 1957], No. 11240/58. Class 23. Apparatus for separating impurities from a liquid or suspension comprises a tank 3 in the outlet of which rotates a bladed rotor. The liquid or suspension upstream of the rotor is spun by the rotor, and the impurities are flung to the periphery of the tank from which they are periodically discharged through an outlet 8. The apparatus is arranged at the inlet of a machine 2 for treating paper pulp, and the rotor is attached to the shaft of the machine. The tank may be cylindrical and may have inlet and outlet coaxial with each other but eccentric with the tank. Dimensions are given in the Specification.
