Abstract

836,612. Ladders. TYRER, W. H. Oct. 8, 1957 [Nov. 20, 1956]. No. 35392/56. Class 20(2) A foot for a ladder comprises a socket 10 for the ladder stile and a side bracket 12 on which rests a ladder rung. The foot has a base plate 17, with holes (not shown) through which spikes may be driven into the ground, dependent from the socket 10 by a spindle 15 threaded in a sleeve 13 welded to the socket and secured by a ball joint 18 to the plate 17. Locking nuts are provided on the spindle 15 and the sleeve 13 may be split and provided with screws for tightening it to the spindle 15 after adjustment.
