Abstract

836,518. Automatic discharge of endless conveyers. DURKOPPWERKE A.G. Sept. 8, 1958 [Oct. 24, 1957], No. 28694/58. Class 78 (1). An endless conveyer 2 is arranged to discharge boxes 19 right or left at selected working stations 26. Thus, endless chain 1 drives a plurality of carriers 2, each of which carries a pair of intermeshing grids 6, 7 each pivoted at 8. In operation a selector device 28 on the carrier is operated at the loading station. At the appropriate receiving station the said device closes a contact 29 which operates a stationary electromagnet 14 or 15 to bring its lifting roller 17 into the path of a lifting member 9 or 10 carried by the carrier. The engagement of the member with the roller lifts a grid 6 or 7 about its pivot 8. The box 9 is now held from sliding off the inclined grid by pawl 18. The latter is then lowered when its extension 20 engages fixed cam 27, so that the box is free to slide down off the carrier at the station. The pawl 18 is made flexibly retractive so as not to obstruct the loading of the box on to the carrier. Specification 789,579 is referred to.
