Abstract
1386349 Endless conveyers MARSHALL HANDLING EQUIPMENT Ltd 26 Feb 1973 [8 March 1972] 10676/72 Heading B8A A carrier 4 suspended from an overhead endless conveyer chain 8 is arranged to receive loadcarrying trays 5 from a series of feed conveyers 24, 16, 17, and to discharge trays 5 to a series of take-away conveyers 13, 14. These operations are initiated by the action of a code block 9 carried by each carrier 4 as the latter approaches the feed/discharge station. When the block 9 passes code readers 10, a signal is generated to cause the conveyer 17 to be lifted by a jack R to the position shown, from the position illustrated in Fig. 1 (not shown). A sidewall member 25 adjacent the conveyer 17 engages (when this conveyer is in its raised position) the tray 5 on the passing carrier 4 thus causing this tray to be deflected on to the take-away conveyer 13. A detector D4 starts the conveyer 13. Passage of the carrier 4 past a detector D5 causes a stop 23 to be lowered, and the re-starting of conveyer 16. A detector D2 returns the stop 23, and a detector D1 stops the conveyer 16.
