Abstract
836,227. Knitting. TULLMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB. March 14, 1957, No. 8463/57. Class 74 (2). A plush fabric having laid in weft and warp yarns 18, 19 is knitted on the machine illustrated in Fig. 1 in which alternate warp guides feed the yarns 3 forming the plush loops and the intervening guides feed other yarns 3a. The structure of the fabric is of a warp knitted formation as shown in Fig. 4 and in which the guides are shogged to and fro to feed their yarns to adjacent needles 1 in alternate courses. Loop forming members 4 extend in the alternate spaces between adjacent needles and it is over these members that the plush yarns 3 are laid to form the plush loops. Knives 10 co-operate with the members 4 and sever the plush loops as they move down the members. The other yarns 3a which are not severed, serve to secure the laid in weft and warp yarns in place in the fabric.
