Abstract
835,620. Cooking utensils. FISSLER, R., and FISSLER, H., [trading as FISSLERK.G., R.]. Aug. 8, 1957 [Aug. 8, 1956; June 6, 1957], No. 25082/57. Class 66. [Also in Groups VI and XVIII] A cooking utensil comprises a thin-walled container of sheet metal, the upper part of the container wall being surrounded by a reinforcing ring 4 fitted by casting, shrinking or welding on the container wall. The ring 4 has a thickened portion 5 to which a handle 6 is attached by a screw 7. A base plate 9 welded or cast on to the base 1 of the container is of aluminium. As applied to a pressure cooker, the rim 3 of the container wall may be bent over as in Fig. 5 or as in Figs. 6-9 (not shown), and be fitted in different ways to the ring 4. The ring 4 may be recessed at one or more points 10 for engagement with recesses formed in a sheet metal lid 11 and its reinforcing ring 12 to form a bayonet joint. The rim of the lid 11 and the ring 12 may take various forms, Figs 10-13 (not shown). A handle with an aluminium end casting may be welded to the ring 4 on the utensil, Fig. 4 (not shown). The ring 4 may be of steel, steel casting, aluminium, copper, or alloys thereof.
