Abstract
393,477. Melting - pots. KLINGE, P. A., 31, Svalevej, Hellerup, Denmark. Oct. 28, 1932, No. 30315. [Class 82 (i).] Relates to casting-pots, particularly for typecomposing machines of the kind in which one or more sides of the pot have inner and outer walls to accommodate electrical heating elements between them. The outer wall 4 is provided with one or more internal projections or ribs 7, which serve to press the heating- elements 8 against the inner wall. The compartment between the walls, which may be of inverted U-shape in cross section, as shown, is formed by-welding an exterior shell on to the pot after it is cast, or may be formed during the casting. A plate 9, held against the base of the pot by a bolt 11 and a nut 10, may aid in holding the heating-elements in position. The spout 3 may have a compartment 13, formed to the shape of the spout wall, and containing a heating-element 12 of corresponding form, the heating-element being pressed against the spout by an internal projection 15.
