834,762. Pipes; pipe joints. WAKA ROR A. B. Oct. 9, 1958, No. 32241/58. Classes 99(1) and 99(2). In a socket pipe 1 having at one end a socket 2 with an inner diameter greater than the outside diameter of the pipe 1 for reception, with interposed sealing material, of the socketless end of a similar socket pipe, a shoulder being arranged inside the socket or on the outside of the pipe and having a supporting surface for guiding the pipe in the socket, the supporting surface 3 has the form of part of a cylinder surface with a diameter equal to the outer diameter of the pipe when the shoulder is arranged inside the socket, and to the inner diameter of the socket when the shoulder is arranged on the outside of the pipe, the shoulder being bevelled axially towards the mouth 4 of the socket as well as circumferentially towards the inner surface 5 thereof. The circumferential bevels 7, 8 are part of a cylinder surface and the portions 9, 10 between the latter and the axial bevel 6 are bevelled towards the inner surface 5.
