Abstract

834,426. Injection moulding of belts and nets. VISO S.A. June 18, 1956 [June 18, 1955], No. 18835/56. Class 87(2). A driving belt or net is made from a thread or threads of orientated synthetic resinous material by the injection moulding of bodies of synthetic thermoplastic material at equal intervals around the thread or threads. In the case of a net, each body is applied to two threads at their crossing point. The moulding may be carried out in an inert atmosphere. Both the threads and bodies may be made of the same material., e.g. polyurethane, a polyamide or a polyester. Each thread may comprise a single filament or several filaments twisted together. As shown, a nylon thread 12 passes from a bobbin 6 between two halves 1 and 2 of an injection die and is wound on a roller 7. The thread is fed forwardly in steps by hooks 13 operated by a crank 10 and, while it is stationary, the die is closed and a container 3 is lowered to enable thermoplastic material to be forced by a piston 4 into the die.
