Abstract
834,032. Control systems for consuming devices. RANK CINTEL Ltd. Sept. 20, 1957 [Sept. 21, 1956], No. 28923/56. Class 38 (4). A circuit for sequentially varying an alternating current, comprises a plurality of electron conductive paths energized in sequence, each having a series resistor developing a voltage output for operating a current-controlling means. The conductive paths may be a series of bi-stable valves or transistors, or a coldcathode sequence tube 22 which is stepped by a device 31 and varying by means of resistors 24-28 and 33-37, the fixed bias 40 on a tube 21, or a pair of reverse parallel connected tubes. An A.C. voltage is superimposed by means of a transformer 39 on the bias which fires the tube 21 hence controlling the A.C. current through a welding transformer 19, stage lighting circuit or other apparatus.
