Abstract

A high-tensile beta brass, suitable for use as ship's propellers and other marine components, has a composition, in per cent by weight, in the following range Cu at least 53.0, Al 3.0-6.0, Fe 1.0-4.0, Ni and/or Co greater than 1.0 and up to 2.5, Mn 0-3.4, Zn and impurities the balance. The Provisional Specification describes also alloys in which the Mn content may be up to 4.0.
