Abstract
832,839. Steel girders; reinforced concrete; beams. KAISER, W. Aug 30, 1957 [Sept. 18, 1956; Nov. 5, 1956; May 4, 1957], No. 27400/57. Classes 20(2) and 20(4) A steel girder for ferroconcrete ribbed ceilings has a web of welded zig-zag steel bands 9, 4 carrying a longitudinal boom comprising two parallel rods 1, 2 connected by transverse rods 3 bent over the rods 1, 2 and riveted to stirrups 6 for a wooden shuttering batten 8. An upper boom 11 is provided. Bay shuttering 13 is supported on the batten 8 by clamping straps 12. The stirrup 6 and batten 8 are of sufficient depth to be adequately covered by concrete. Instead of riveting, the rod 3 may have longitudinal end pieces (Fig. 8, not shown) which engage in bent-up eyes on the band 6. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, the transverse rods 3b connect four parallel rods 1a, 1, 2 and 2a and are bent around a metal support 14, the rods 1a, 2a engaging in recesses in the support, the zig-zag band 4 being replaced by a rod 4a.
