Abstract
832,716. Winding and reeling. BREITENBACH, MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI G.m.b.H., W. May 21,1957 [May 24, 1956], No. 16031/57. Class 83 (4). Apparatus for winding wire on a stationary drum mounted with its axis vertical is characterized in that the drum is adapted to be coupled with a collecting drum on to which the wound wire falls from the said stationary drum. Wire is passed over a roller a, down through a shaft b, rotated through a clutch t by a worm-wheel d, under a roller g carried by the shaft b and around a roller h carried by a winding pulley e secured to the lower end of the shaft b. The pulley c lays the wire around a drum f held from rotation by a bolt n. A collecting drum o on a carriage p is slid beneath the drum f and a clutch half i on the drum f is lowered to engage a clutch half k on the drum o. The bolt n is then withdrawn, the clutch now preventing rotation of the drum f, allowing the wire to drop on to the drum o. When the drum o has been filled, the bolt n is moved forward to lock the drum f and the clutch is disengaged. The wire is then severed between the two drums and its severed ends are secured thereto. Two collecting drums o may be mounted on the carriage p. A plurality of winders may be mounted in line.
