Abstract

832,515. Two-part couplings. ROLLSROYCE Ltd. May 30, 1957 [May 30, 1956], No. 16799/56. Class 38 (1). A plug-and-socket connector comprises interfitting sleeves 10e, 15 containing resilient contact-carrying blocks 11 and 12 and 20 respectively, said sleeves being held in engagement by a locking sleeve 25 carried by the plug sleeve 15. Sleeve 25 screws on to the socket sleeve 10e and is prevented from becoming unscrewed accidentally by a pair of resilient fingers 28a carried by sleeve 15 and engaging a series of serrations 25a on the interior of the locking sleeve 25. Disengagement of the connector parts is assisted when unscrewing sleeve 25 by an internal shoulder 25c on sleeve 25 coming into abutment with an external shoulder 15c on sleeve 15. The connector parts are oriented by a key 15d on sleeve 15 engaging a keyway 10d in sleeve 10e.
