Abstract

832,450. Nesting boxes. TEMPLETON, A.G. Sept. 19, 1958 [April 29, 1958], No. 13529/58. Class 5(2). A nesting box comprises a floor 2 on to which the eggs are laid the floor sloping rearwardly from the entrance 1D of the box and being provided on its upper surface with a layer 5 of resilient material formed with a series of upstanding projections. From the floor 2 the eggs roll through an opening 4 between the floor and the rear wall 3 of the box, on to a reticular tray 8 supported by coil springs 9 and adjustable links 11 and are collected from thence via a hinged door 13. The entrance to the box is provided with a slatted door 14 which may be brought into a horizontal position to form a perch, and a removable dust tray 12 is provided at the base of the box. A hinged flap 17 may be mounted on the rear wall of the box to provide a means of covering the opening 4.
