Abstract
832,014. Binding-posts. OXLEY, R. F. Aug. 21, 1958 [Sept. 4, 1957; Dec. 9, 1957], Nos. 27944/57 and 38230/57. Class 38 (1). A terminal tag 10 has a central aperture in which is located a resilient bush of, for example, P.T.F.E., said bush being expanded radially above and below the tag by a flanged eyelet 13 inserted in the bush and swaged over at 16. Fig. 6 shows another embodiment in which the eyelet 24 is slightly greater in diameter than the bore of the bush and does not extend through the bush. The end of the eyelet is tapered so as to facilitate the forcing of the eyelet into the bush. The flange of the eyelet has grooves on opposite faces forming projections 27, 28. When several tag assemblies are mounted on a support 32, Fig. 8, by means of a bolt 30, the projections 28 bite into the bushes of adjacent assemblies to prevent relative rotation of the tags. The grooves may be cut through to form sharper projections (Fig. 9, not shown). The bolt 30 may be replaced by a rivet or the eyelets may have threaded spigots adapted to screw into adjacent eyelets or be attached to the support by a nut. In a further construction the spigot may be omitted and the internal screwthread retained so that several assemblies may be screwed on to a bolt. The eyelet itself in Fig. 2 may comprise a hollow bolt, the second flange being constituted by a nut or a washer behind a nut.
