Abstract
829,193. Sanitary and hygenic devices. O'NEILL, F. G. G. Q. Aug. 29, 1957 [Aug. 29, 1956], No. 26337/56. Class 40 (4). [Also in Groups VI and XXV] A disinfecting capsule is secured in the mouthpiece of a telephone transmitter by means of a rubber member with outwardly directed portions forming suction fastenings which engage the inner wall of the mouthpiece. As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the capsule, which is of a plastics material, comprises a dish 10 with a perforated base and an apertured side wall, and a perforated and cylindrically curved cover 10a large enough to form an overhanging flange. Lying within the dish, together with a gauze antiseptic pad, is a rubber ring 12 with projections 12a passing through the apertures in the dish wall and hollowed at their ends to form suction fastenings which lie on a circle of larger diameter than the rim of the mouthpiece and are compressed into the mouthpiece where they consequently adhere.
