Abstract

828,063. Knitting-pins. MORRALL Ltd., A. July 30, 1956 [July 29, 1955], No. 21938/55. Class 74 (2). A circular knitting-pin comprises a flexible portion 11 composed of a filament 12 of nylon or similar synthetic resinous material surrounded by a sheath 13 of a more flexible synthetic resinous material, each end of the portion 11 being joined to a relatively stiff pointed endpart 14 by the end of filament 12 engaging in a socket 15 secured in or formed in the end part and the sheath 13 passing over the outer surface of the socket to abut with a shoulder 21 of the end part. The filament is secured in the socket by forming depressions 16 in the socket which 'grip the filament and the outer surface of the socket may be knurled to assist the sheath to grip it. The sheath and filament may be flattened adjacent the socket to permit the portion 11 to flex when the pin is in use. Specifications 730,866 and 775,130 are referred to.
