Abstract

826,471. Glass. STINNES, H., [trading as MELA MASCHINENBAU UND REPARATOR H. STINNES]. Feb. 13, 1956 [Feb. 14, 1955], No. 4451/56. Class 56. To remove gas bubbles from molten glass it is caused to pass as a film between the melting tank B and the working tank 7 by being fed over the cap 5a of a cylinder 5 rotated about a vertical axis in the shaft 16. The cylinder may be internally heated or cooled and it is provided at its lower end with a bell-shaped part 6 extending below the surface of the glass in the working tank thereby serving as a stirrer.
