Abstract
A refractory backing for use in fusion welding (see Group XXII) may be made by adding sodium silicate solution to finely divided refractory material, e.g., sand, ground fire-brick or sillimanite and hardening by introducing carbon dioxide into the moulding box containing the mixture. Specification 654,817 [Group XXII], is referred to.
