Abstract

826,434. Screw conveyers. BARRON & SON Ltd., W. S., and ROWLES, A. H. July 1, 1958 [Aug. 12, 1957], No. 25347/57. Class 78 (1). The casing of a conveyer is provided at intervals with a removable section comprising a split sleeve a, preferably of cast iron, and the screw is provided with a split section b of the same length and material. The edge c of the screw is not less than <SP>3</SP>/ 16 inch wide and may be of cast iron, a metal alloy, nylon or other material not requiring lubrication. The ends of the screw are stepped to fit on complementary ends of adjacent sections. The section b is bolted to a gudgeon f which extends between and is connected to adjacent sections of the main screw. Specification 807,322 is referred to.
