A bearing housing in two parts 1, 2 is located in a mounting 3 by pads 8<SP>1</SP> located between opposed vertical faces if the housing and mounting 3 and a pad 8 located between opposed horizontal surfaces. The pads are disposed in recesses in the housing, as shown, or in the mounting 3, or in both. Bolts 9 clamp the bottom half-housing 2 in position on the mounting 3 and also the top half-housing 1 to the half-housing 2 so that it can be removed without disturbing the latter.
