Abstract
825,684. Optical-projection systems. ASKANIA-WERKE A. G. July 17, 1957 [July 26, 1956], No. 22674/57. Class 97(1) A system for projecting a pattern of reference lines including one or more circles, comprises a diaphragm having a corresponding pattern of light transmitting apertures smaller in area than the. opaque portions, an optical element having toroidal zones to focus light in the vicinity of the apertures and a lens to project an image of the diaphragm. In the form shown the diaphragm 4 has a central aperture 4<SP>1</SP> with concentric circular slits 4<SP>11</SP>, 4<SP>111</SP> and the condenser system comprises a member 3 having a spherical portion 3<SP>1</SP> with concentric toric portions 3<SP>11</SP>, 3<SP>111</SP>, for concentrating light from the source 1 into these apertures. The member 3 may be replaced by an opaque plate having apertures in a configuration corresponding to those in the diaphragm 4, each aperture having a reflecting, part-paraboloidal crosssection.
