Class 16 An index tab for a filing card comprises a strip of transparent thermoplastic material folded centrally at 2, the legs 3, 4 being welded together along a seam 5 parallel to the fold 2 to provide a slot 11 for the reception of an index slip, and is characterized in that the seam 5 is not continuous but consists of a series of welded and non- welded zones. The inner faces of the legs 3, 4 are coated with adhesive for attachment to a filing card, and are protected before use by removable strips of paper 6, 7. The discontinuous seam 5 is more resistant to bending than the usual continuous seam.
