Abstract
825,240. A.C. electric motor control systems. SOC. GRAM-ELECTRIC. April 12, 1957 [April 12, 1956; Nov. 27, 1956; Jan. 30, 1957], No. 12014/57. Class 38 (3). [Also in Group XXXV] A system for paralleling a polyphase generator or connecting a motor to, say, a ship's supply system, comprises three single-phase switches or contactors which are closed manually or automatically in turn sufficiently slowly to allow the voltage regulators of the system to adjust the bus-bar voltage between steps. One or more of the machines may be separately excited by means of a conventional circuit 36, 37, 39-42, augmented by an additional field winding 35 fed by a current transformer 31, 33 through a rectifier 34 and transformer 45, so that the winding 35 is only responsive to load current changes. Transformer 45 may alternatively be connected to the control winding of a transductor supplying winding 35, the transductor load winding being fed from a voltage transformer.
