822,204. Propelling and steering marine craft. SCHIFFBAU, PROJEKT-UND KONSTRUKTIONSBURO VEB. Jan. 31, 1957, No. 3433/57. Class 114. In a transmission in which an engine drives a propeller through coaxial oppositely rotating vertical shafts 3, 4, clutches 5, 6 are arranged between their bevel driving gears 1, 2 and the shafts so that steering can be assisted by partially disengaging the clutch of the shaft tending to oppose the steering movement. Mechanical, hydraulic or hydrostatic clutches operated by press buttons may be used.
