Abstract

821,640. Slicing-machines. ELLIOTT BROS. (LONDON) Ltd. June 13, 1957 [June 15, 1956] No. 18584/56. Class 28 (2). The food-holder 16 of a slicing-machine is mounted on a pair of swinging parallel arms 11 so that the food block swings in an arcuate path across the disc knife 17, whereby a larger food block can be sliced across the same size knife. The arms swing in base pivots 10 which are biased by springs so that the holder occupies the mid-position. The holder is oscillated by a handle 50. The machine may be a gravityfeed type with a pusher plate or otherwise. The knife 17 is protected by a masking plate 52 which when removed operates a micro-switch in the motor circuit to prevent knife rotation. The slice thickness is determined by a graduated knob 27, Fig. 5, rotating a worm-wheel in contact with the teeth of a rack 22A which adjusts the plate on which the food block abuts.
