Abstract

820,808. Tents. ALEXANDER, E. Oct. 11, 1957 [July 17, 1956], No. 22043/56. Class 20(1) [Also in Group XXXII] A tent frame for use in combination with a motor car comprises a collapsible rigid frame having two pairs of limbs 1, 3 and 7, 9 pivotally joined at 10, 11 so that they can open to an angle of 90 degrees, the members 1, 3 being pivotally connected to the luggage rack of a car by pivots 5, 6. Guy ropes 12, 13 hold the frame in place when erected and hooks 16, 17 hold the frame in position on top of the car when it is collapsed. A removable ridge pole 4 is provided and the frame is covered with a plastic material. An extension pivoted at 23, 24 may be used as an awning or a door flap and the frame may include a swivel so that the tent may be erected at the side of the car.
