Abstract
820,128. Cooking vessels. STEIGERWALD, F. Nov. 16,1956 [Nov. 16, 1955], No. 35195/56. Class 66. [Also in Group VI] A ham boiler comprises a casing in which at least one partition is placed at a selected position between two opposite ends of the casing to provide at least one compartment to receive a ham, the height of the or each partition wall being so chosen that it is of substantially the same height as the ham and a closure lid which can be pressed onto or brought into close proximity to the ham depending on the height of the or each partition wall. As shown the boiler 1 comprises a casing 2 and a lid 3 held under spring pressure, Casing 2 contains a liner 6 with parallel guide walls 7, 8 engaging and connected to the side walls 4, 5 of the casing and having, towards one end, ridges 9, 10 forming grooves 11, 12 into which a partition wall 13 consisting of parts 14, 15, 16 may be fitted. The lid 3 has recesses 17 to accommodate the ridges 9, 10 of walls 7, 8. In a modification, the grooves are formed in the side and bottom walls of the boiler itself and, in a further modification, the partition or partitions are arranged in the centre of the boiler and one ham may be cooked in each end.
