Class 29 To prevent noise caused by e.g. the bubbling of vapour through liquid in an analyzer 12, the vapour bubbles are comminuted by passage through a permeable material 22. As shown, this consists of a gauze cylinder placed so that bubbles caused by the entry of vapour under pressure through pipe 19 from the expeller pass radially through the gauze before reaching the surface of the liquid in the analyzer. Apertures 24 are provided below the outlet of pipe 19 so that, should the gauze be blocked the vapour reaches the surface of the liquid at a higher pressure than normal. The device may be fitted at the inlet of the refrigerant vapour pump into the standpipe or expeller.
