Abstract

A catheter or similar instrument is made by injection moulding silicone rubber around a wire mandrel, having a cone-shaped end part to form a funnel-shaped inlet for the catheter. The rubber is hardened, without pressure, in two stages, the first between 108 DEG and 200 DEG C., and the second between 200 DEG and 250 DEG C. Each heating stage lasts for about five hours, the actual length determining the hardness and elasticity of the finished product.ALSO:A catheter or similar instrument is made by injection moulding silicone rubber around a wire mandrel, having a cone-shaped end part to form a funnel-shaped inlet.
