Abstract

449,301. Moulding hollow articles. BRATRING, K., 26, Bussestrasse Luckenwalde, near Berlin. Jan. 16, 1936, No. 1474. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1935. [Class 87 (ii)] Hollow articles are made by applying acetyl - cellulose or other plastic material by dipping, spraying, or pouring, to a core A over which is stretched a rubber or other skin C held by a band D in a groove or neck in the core. When the plastic material is set or dry, the band D is removed, and air is introduced between the core and the skin to remove the moulded article L together with the skin, as shown in Fig. 3. The core may be smoothed by applying talcum, lacquer, or glycerine. Preformed hollow articles while still moist and flexible may serve as the plastic material from which the finished articles are produced.
