818,657. Antiseptic paper &c. MOSINEE PAPER MILLS CO. July 5, 1957 [July 6, 1956], No. 21398/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 96. Paper or fibre-board &c. which is resistant to fungi and bacteria, e.g. for towels, diapers, hospital use, or for wrapping food, &c., and which may be reinforced with glass threads &c. is coated with e.g. 2,2<SP>1</SP>-methylene-bis- (3,4,6 - trichlor - phenol), dihydroxy - dichlordiphenyl - methane, orthophenylphenol, orthobenzyl - parachlor - phenol or mixtures thereof, e.g. applied as an emulsion with a water-resistant binder, e.g. with polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene, chloroprene, a butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer, rosin-wax, microcrystalline wax, protein, modified starch, insoluble carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose or stearate chromyl chloride; and with a solvent, e.g. xylol, butyl-acetate, or -lactate, di-isobutyl ether, di-butyl ether, methyl ethyl ketone, or monochlor-benzene, an emulsifying agent, e.g. mahogany oil sulphate, and a stabilizer. The emulsion may be applied at a size-press at a calender stack.
