Abstract
817,765. Textile drafting apparatus. MACKIE & SONS Ltd., J. Aug. 21, 1957 [Aug. 21, 1956], No. 25549/56. Class 120(2) In a drafting frame &c. for flax &c. having top-rollers, e.g. of wood, . turning in pairs of interchangeable axle-nuts 6 located in grooves 7 in horn-bars 8, the grooves corresponding to a pair of nuts are slightly displaced in relation to one another in a direction along the length of the horn-bars, so that the axes of the rollers are inclined at a small angle (e.g. 1 degree) to that of the drawing-roller. In this way the deposit of wax and a consequent tendency to lapping are avoided. The displacement may be effected by suitably varying the grooves, or by mounting the horn-bars on the supporting bar 12 by eccentric sleeves 14 disposed in such a way that one horn bar can project from the supporting bar more than another.
