Abstract
817,606. Paper bags. BIBBEY & BARON Ltd. Sept. 2, 1957 [Oct. 3, 1956]. No. 30098/56. Class 94(2). A method of making carrier bags ineludes the steps of feeding a stiffening strip as a continuous length and sticking it near to the edge of a continuous length of paper 1 from which the bags are to be made so that, after folding, substantially the whole of the edge is stiffened, and thereafter forming the paper into bags so that the stiffening edge comes to the mouth of the bag. The strip may be fixed at the edge of the paper as shown and then folded along the line 4, of the strip may be fixed away from the edges and the paper folded over the strip. Cut-outs 3 are made at intervals corresponding to the bag size.
