Abstract

813,512. Forcing liquids by gaseous pressure. VAN DER LELY, C. Jan. 10, 1956 [Jan. 11, 1955], No. 887/56. Class 102(2). [Also in Group XXIX] A tank 1 on a wheeled vehicle pulled by a tractor 5 contains liquid manure or other viscous substance, and an air compressor 6 driven from the power take-off of the tractor has its outlet connected to the top of the tank by a conduit 8 whereby the manure is forced from an upwardly and rearwardly directed nozzle 21 and against a fixed deflector 22 and is dispersed as a fan-shaped spray over the ground. The nozzle is adjustably and detachably attached to a pipe 11 by a coupling 20, and a valve 12 is remotely operated from the driver's seat. By means of valves the conduit 8 may be connected with the suction side of the compressor, and by replacing the nozzle by a suction pipe the tank can be filled from a ditch. A movable disc, blade or blade wheel may be used instead of a fixed deflector 22 and actuated by hand or by the energy of the liquid jet.
