813,425. Silo-cars. ALUMINIUM-INDUSTRIE A. G. Oct. 18, 1957 [Oct. 20, 1956, Oct. 11, 1957], No. 32631/57. Classes 103(4) and 108(1) A silo mounted on a rail or road-car chassis comprises a semi-cylindrical shell 1 closed at its ends by curved walls 3 and having hoppers 2 with inlet openings 4. The shell is stiffened on its inner surface by hoops 5 and the area between the shell and the hoppers is strengthened by an outer rib 6. The hoppers have annular strengthening ribs 7 interconnected by longitudinal girders 8. 'The wheel units 9, and brakes and buffers (not shown) of a rail car are mounted on the girders or the girders may form part of a road-car chassis.
