Abstract

813,415. Cartons; packaging. KEYES FIBRE CO. Jan. 8, 1957 [Jan. 27, 1956], No. 698/57. Classes 18 and 94(1). A moulded pulp tray for containing meat, &c. has a groove formation in the base for receiving liquid draining from the contents, the grooves forming external ribs and including diagonal sections 28 which assist heat sealing when the corners of a transparent wrapping sheet 12 are overlapped and secured beneath the tray. The ribs offer counter pressure for the sealing means. The groove formation may include outer and inner peripheral runs 32, 34, 40, 42 or the central formation 24, 26 shown may be connected directly to an outer peripheral groove by the sections 28.
