A moulded egg carton consisting of three sections 12, 14, 16 has a tear strip 56 formed between the sections 14, 16, where by after the rim of the section 16 has been permanently secured to the superposed rims of the sections 12, 14 after filling, the carton may be opened by tearing off the strip 56.
