Abstract

812,569. Clamps. DORSET LIGHT INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 31, 1957 [July 31, 1956], No. 23668/56. Class 44 [Also in Group XXXII] The rod 2 carrying a rear view mirror is telescopically mounted on an adjustable tube 3, Fig. 3, extending through a block 10 having a spigot 12 and attached to the wing 5 of a car by a nut 21 abutting a sleeve 20 on the spigot. The tube is locked in position by a threaded clamping sleeve 16 engaging the chamfered end of a ferrule on the tube. In a modification, the tube 3, Fig. 5 extends obliquely through a member 26 attached to the wing 5 by a nut 32 abutting a sleeve 31 having an aperture 33 through which the tube passes. The tube is locked in position by a screw 29 bearing on an insert 30.
