809,304. Removing incrustations in furnaces. MANNESMANN A.G. Oct. 5, 1956 [Oct. 7, 1955], No. 30487/56. Class 51 (2). [Also in Group XIII] Deposits in the air regenerator of a Siemens- Martin furnace are removed by introducing a reducing gas, such as blast furnace gas, into the waste gases inlet side of the regenerator. Volatile lead and zinc compounds are discharged through the chimney with the effluent gases. The process is conducted at a maximum temperature of approximately 1300‹ C. to avoid fusion of the deposits.
