806,417. Venetian blinds. GRIESSER, A. G. Nov. 5, 1956 [Nov. 11, 1955], No. 33715/56. Class 20(3) A Venetian blind having slats 2 pivotally connected at their ends by pins 5 and eyes 6 tc guiding tapes 4 of steel or the like suspended from a winding shaft 1 on which the slats and tapes are wound, the slats also being pivotally connected by their longitudinal beads 3a tc eyes 10 on at least one supporting tape 9 also suspended from the shaft 1, is characterized in that the middle portion of each slat 2 is pivotally connected to at least one further supporting tape 11 extending through cutouts 12 in the slats and suspended from the shaft 1. Preferably a transverse member 16 anchored to the tapes 4 and 11 and resting in a widened portion 8 of the guide rails 7 when the blind is lowered (Fig. 2), ensures, with the tape 11, that the middle and end portions of the slats are held at the same height. On further rotation of the shaft in the same direction the tape 9, being free of the member 16, is lowered and the slats assume a horizontal position.
